James Harden is on a mission this season. It seems a coaching change to the up-tempo, free-flowing Mike D’Antoni has got Harden clicking on all cylinders for the Houston Rockets. Averaging 28.5 points and an NBA-leading 12 assists per game, the 6’ 5” bearded wonder is looking like a high-scoring version of Steve Nash, at least in the box score. With his patented Euro-step drives and step-back-threes in full effect, he is certainly in the running for MVP along with Mr. Triple Double, Russell Westbrook. Not since Tiny Archibald in 1972-73 has a player led the league in both scoring and assists, but Harden could very well do so. More importantly, his team is off to a great start and is looking like a Western Conference contender once again.
Presented here is a pair of Harden’s game worn and signed Nike Zoom signature model sneakers from the 2014-15 campaign in which he averaged 27.4 points and 7 assists and finished second in the MVP voting behind Steph Curry. The bright red low-tops with florescent yellow trim come in size 14 with proper “PROMO SAMPLE 20140725” tagging on the interior. The heels are stamped with the Harden “JH" logo. The Nike insoles have been removed as it appears Harden used his own custom orthotic. He has signed the toes on each shoe in bold black marker. They show excellent wear and come with solid team provenance.
The noticeable white scuff marks on each toe appear to match the wear on Harden's same style shoes worn in two January '15 road games: January 8th at N.Y. Knicks (Getty 461233186) and Jan. 12th at Brooklyn Nets (Getty 468845046). The Rockets won each game by double digits. "The Beard" had 25 points and 9 assists on 1/8/15 at MSG, and then went for 30 with 6 dimes on 1/12/15 at Barclays Center. It seems likely he wore this pair in one, or both, of these contests.
