During the decade of the 1990s, one NBA power forward stood tallest: Utah Jazz superstar Karl “The Mailman” Malone. Measuring 6’ 9” tall and weighing in at 250 pounds, Malone won two league MVP awards (1997 & '99), took the Jazz to two NBA Finals (1997 & 98) and averaged 24.7 points and 10.7 rebounds over his 19 seasons leading to a first ballot Hall of Fame induction in 2010. Simply put, The Mailman always delivered, even on Sunday. This lot features an exquisite pair of Malone's game-worn APEX signature model shoes from his first MVP season of 1996-97, complete with custom embroidered "MAILMAN 32" on each outer ankle. The shoes show excellent wear, but remain structurally sound. Malone has signed the outside of the left shoe with "Mailman" inscribed above his autograph in 8/10 black Sharpie. The shoes are totally original, as worn by Malone with the exception of the left (purple) shoelace being replaced. Getty 52488252 provides a great style-match from the 1997 Western Conference playoffs against Shaq and the Lakers.
