A Chicago-area native who went to John Hersey High School in Arlington Heights and DePaul University in Chicago, Dave Corzine was the 18th overall pick of the 1978 NBA draft by the Washington Bullets. After two years with the Bullets and two more with the San Antonio Spurs, Corzine returned to his hometown to play for the Chicago Bulls for seven seasons, where he started in 285 out of 556 games played for the team.

On the front left tail of Corzine's 1988-89 Bulls road jersey is a tag that reads “Designed & Tailored Exclusively For CHICAGO BULLS”. Below is a “Sand-Knit” size “48” manufacturer’s tag. Adjacent are two strip tags that read “88” and “4”LB”. On the right inseam is a tag that reads “100% NYLON” with washing instructions. On the left chest is an official “NBA” logo embroidered. Across the front reads “BULLS” painted in black with white trim. Player number “40” appears on both the front and on the back in black on white vinyl lettering. Across the back reads player name “CORZINE” in white vinyl lettering. On the left shoulder is a black memorial armband that was added to Bulls jerseys at the end of the 1988-89 season. This jersey is properly tagged and shows appropriate game wear.
