Nice trio of game-worn shoes from three prominent NBA players: Doc Rivers, Mitch Richmond and Sam Perkins.

Long before his successful career as head coach of the Boston Celtics and L.A. Clippers, Glenn "Doc" Rivers spent most of his 13-year playing career as the Atlanta Hawks starting point guard. He wore the offered pair of Converse All-Stars during the 1985-86 campaign in which he averaged 11.5 points and 8.4 assists and helped lead the Hawks to the playoffs with a 50-32 record. The white and red, size 13.5 leather shoes show ample game use and include their original laces. The pair was obtained by a former ball boy of the Atlanta Hawks who watched Rivers as he signed each shoe in black with the inscription: "Good Luck, Glenn Rivers 'Doc'".

Sam Perkins, the smooth sharp-shooting 6’ 9” lefty, played 17 seasons in the NBA with four teams and finished with career averages of 12 points and 6 rebounds. Teammates with Michael Jordan and James Worthy on the UNC Tar Heels’ 1982 NCAA title team, Sam never got to taste championship glory as a pro despite playing for some great teams in L.A., Seattle and Indiana. Offered here is his pair of game-worn Reebok Pumps from the 1992-93 season when Perkins helped the Sonics reach the Western Conference Finals. They come in size 16 with that familiar orange air-pumping basketball on the tongues stamped “Above The Rim." Properly tagged by Reebok, both are signed by Perkins on the outer heels in green marker. They show solid game use with their original laces and all elements completely intact. Sourced from the personal collection of Coby Karl, son of longtime NBA coach George Karl. Originally sold in Lot 291 from our Summer 2016 Auction.

The gem of this group is the pair of Adidas sneakers donned by recent Hall of Fame inductee Mitch Richmond during his 1988-89 Rookie of the Year season. "The Rock", as he was known during his playing days with the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings, was named to six All-Star and five All-NBA teams over his 14-year career. As a rookie out of Kansas State, Richmond scored 22 points per game for Don Nelson's up-tempo "Run TMC" squad. In 976 career games, the star shooting guard averaged 21 points. The shoes exhibit solid game wear, with some cracking at the midsoles from aging but otherwise completely intact with their original laces. Richmond has signed the upper heels of both in bright blue marker inscribed with the No. "23" he wore as a rookie.

Includes LOA from Hawks Ball Boy for Rivers shoes. Autographs pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
