Presented here is one of the most sought-after rookie cards in the basketball hobby, in true Near Mint to Mint condition. Lew Alcindor, one of the most dominating players in basketball history, led UCLA's Bruins to three NCAA Championships and then, as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, was the key to several titles in the NBA (most notably with the Los Angeles Lakers). His important rookie card can be said to have inspired the rebirth of enthusiasm for basketball cards. Included in Topps' 1969-70 "Tall Boy" issue, the item is often cited as the cornerstone of modern collecting. Although very difficult to find in high grade, due to its large size and tendency to display production faults, the offered example is remarkably sharp with a fresh uncirculated appearance.

This is one of only 139 examples graded at this level by PSA with 24 graded higher.
