There may never be a better college basketball player than Christian Laettner. As the star of Duke’s back-to-back National Championship teams in 1991 and 1992, Laettner set numerous NCAA tournament records including most points scored (407), most free throws made (142) and most games won (21). His last-second clutch scoring made him the poster boy for NCAA tournament magic. To say he deserved an ESPY in 1992 is an understatement. Laettner’s ’92 ESPY is a marble cylinder with a metallic Roman coliseum on top, measuring 10 1/2” tall and 3 1/4” in diameter and weighing a solid eight pounds. An engraved panel on the front reads “THE AMERICAN SPORTS AWARDS CHRISTIAN LAETTNER OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE COLLEGE BASKETBALL 1992”. The metal top section that screws into the marble base is somewhat loose, but it can be screwed in better and tightened. We will leave that to the buyer. Includes LOA from Christian Laettner.
