This is a collection of team issued items that demonstrate the esteem in which Tony Gwynn was held by the Padres. The first is a 10K gold and sterling silver western-style belt buckle. The ornate 3” x 4” buckle has “GWYNN” and his number “19” in raised gold and a gold ribbon with “1981-2001”, his years spent with the Padres organization. The buckle shows light wear from use, mostly present on the non-displayed back side. Gwynn was a big fan of Garth Brooks and country music, so it's a great piece to honor him by.
The second item is a 1 1/2” x 2 1/8” silver and gold colored money clip which was issued by the team after the 1998 World Series. The clip has the team logo and year along with a rendition of the “Swinging’ Padre” mascot. The back is engraved with “TONY GWYNN 19”. Two unique pieces which illustrate Tony Gwynn’s importance to the San Diego franchise. Includes LOA from Alicia Gwynn.
