Besides being one of the most consistent contact hitters in the game, inside each season Tony Gwynn would put together short offensive streaks that were simply outstanding. These two Bulova watches were presented to the Padres great in recognition of two such outbursts when he was voted the National League Player of the Week. The first is from the week of April 19-25, 1994 when he had 8 consecutive hits and reached base 9 straight times, tying the franchise record. This was the season Gwynn hit .394 for the season, the highest in the NL since 1930. The second watch as given to Gwynn when he went on a week-long hitting tear leading up to his 3,000 career hit on August 6, 1999. Both Bulova watches show light use with no visible blemishes. The 1994 watch has a black pebbled wristband and the 1999 watch has a rugged brown leather band and both are stored in their original presentation boxes. Includes LOA from Alicia Gwynn.
