After batting .372 and winning his eighth batting title - only Ty Cobb won more - the San Diego chapter of the Baseball Writers of America named Tony Gwynn 1997’s Most Valuable Padre. Gwynn also had a career high 220 hits, 17 homers and 119 RBI, making this award all the more deserved. The glass award is 10 3/4” high by 7” wide and 3” deep. Weighting a hefty 5 lbs., the front surface is engraved with Gwynn’s 1997 achievements. A small chip has been taken out of the left side of the glass, but otherwise it displays wonderfully. A great piece acknowledging the statistical high point of Tony Gwynn’s Hall of Fame career. Includes LOA from Alicia Gwynn.
