Nineteen ninety-three marked the 25th anniversary of the San Diego Padres franchise, and who better to be names “Player of the Year” than “Mr. Padre” himself: Tony Gwynn. In recognition of the honor, Gwynn was presented with this 10” tall trophy consisting of a 10” in diameter urn mounted on a 9” x 9” wood base. An engraved plaque on the front reads “San Diego Padres Player of the Year TONY GWYNN 1993 Presented by United States Postal Service”. The award shows surface and edge scuffs and scratches from age. The trophy is accompanied by a 6" tall x 6" wide team-issued engraved glass plaque celebrating the Padres 25th anniversary. Includes LOA from Alicia Gwynn.
