Although the Yankees won the World Series in 1947, it is the 1949 club that is considered the first of the great 1950’s and 60’s clubs that dominated the American League and won ten World Championships. Under new skipper Casey Stengel, New York won 97 games and took the pennant by a single game over Boston. Behind the brilliant pitching of Allie Reynolds and Joe Page, the Yanks beat Brooklyn in five games to win the Championship. This Reach Official American League Harridge ball collects 23 of the World Champs, including Joe DiMaggio who has signed the sweet spot. Fellow Hall of Famers Yogi Berra (CH), Phil Rizutto and Bill Dickey have signed in fine black pen, along with super-reliever Joe Page, pitchers Allie Reynolds and Eddie Lopat (CH) and all-stars Vic Ranchi, Tommy Henrich (CH), Charlie Keller (CH), Stuffy Stirnweiss and Hank Bauer (CH). Signature average 7/10 in our book, some better and worse. The ball shows light toning from age and the signatures display nicely on the creamy surface. Keller, Coleman, Lopat, Bauer, Byrne, Henrich, and Berra have been deemed clubhouse signed by PSA.

Autographs pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
