Offered here is a late 1940's Babe Ruth figural clock produced by the Abbottwares Company. This wooden based bronze clock features a 5 inch bust of Babe Ruth mounted at the top center with inscribed baseballs at each side. The left ball reads "One Season 60 Home Runs" while the right says "Lifetime 714 Home Runs". Produced after Ruth's death in 1948, these clocks were the top prize offered in various punch board games, a popular form of low stakes gambling offered in bars and taverns at the time. This clock is in EX-MT/NM condition with little signs of aging and minimal wear. Appears to be in working order with the glass casing in MINT condition and the original power cord intact. One of the finest condition examples of this coveted Ruth collectible we’ve seen.
