This 6” by 9 1/4” photograph, snapped during a game at the Polo Grounds in 1922, is one of the most iconic shots taken of Babe Ruth and has been the basis of several baseball cards. This photo is significant in that the reverse bears the stamp of "The Christy Walsh Syndicate" - Ruth’s agent and confidant from the early 1920’s through his death in 1948. The photo has been signed by the Babe and personalized “To My Friend Ray Hatel from Babe Ruth Nov. 4 1926”. The signature and inscription are in strong, crisp black fountain pen and is perfectly placed on the iconic photo. The photo show light toning from age and there is some light surface dents and imprints from storage. The top left corner has a small piece missing and all sides show some uneven trimming, all of which can be eliminated through professional framing. A great Ruth signature dated right before the most memorable season of his career.

Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
