Davey Lopes was the longtime second baseman for the Los Angeles Dodgers during the 1970s and early ‘80s. A career .263 batter, Lopes registered a total of 1,671 hits during his 16-year MLB tenure including 155 home runs. This lot features Lopes’ circa 1973 Adirondack professional model game-used bat, a season in which he collected 147 base knocks and finished sixth in the National League Rookie of the Year balloting. The 34.5" "Big Stick" Adirondack bat shows incredible game use with nearly 17 inches worth of pine tar littered throughout the bat handle area. A prominent, 10-inch long crack resides in the bat handle. Lopes uniform number "15" appears in black marker on the bat knob.
