Slick-fielding shortstop Xander Bogaerts has quickly established himself as one of baseball’s best all-around players. In four seasons with the Boston Red Sox, the 24-year-old from the tiny island of Aruba is already an All-Star and winner of back-to-back Silver Slugger awards. His most recent in 2016 came on the heels of a season in which he batted .294 with 21 home runs, 89 RBI and 115 runs scored, while committing just 12 errors at the game’s toughest position. Offered here is a pair of Xander’s Mother’s Day game-worn cleats from Boston’s 5-1 win at Yankee Stadium over their rivals on May 8, 2016.

The pink and white New Balance ‘Rev Lite RC’ low-top cleats come in size 11.5 and show solid game use throughout, with some dirt still stuck to the metal cleats. The NB logo adorns both outer heels with a neat Mother’s Day logo adjacent. The interior tagging indicates a manufacturing date of “01/2016” with Bogaerts’ No. “2” penned in black on each label. Each shoe has a red custom insole with a unique heel cushioning feature. Xander has signed the toes of each shoe with “#2  2016 GU” inscribed.

Bogaerts went 1-4 in the game, including a solo home run in the 8th inning. According to trusted game-used source, Anderson Authentics, who procured these pink cleats directly from Bogaerts, the Red Sox shortstop wore them through the 6th inning before changing to a different pair; hence, many game photos show him in the other black pair. Attached a still shot of his at-bat in the 1st inning wearing these pink cleats for further confirmation.

LOA from Anderson Authentics with COA's for each cleat (2060 & 2061). Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
