For baseball fans on the South Side of Chicago, eighty-eight seasons, three American League pennants and 22 first or second-place finishes had passed between October 15, 1917 and October 26, 2005. But finally, on a warm evening at Houston's Minute Maid Park, the Pale Hose were haunted no longer. A 1-0 triumph over the host Astros completed a four-game sweep and, as was the case in Boston just one October prior, ended a painful and almost century-long run of complete frustration. Every bit as eye-catching as the finger rings that were subsequently awarded to honor the Sox’ success is this beautiful Tourneau wristwatch that was presented to a member of the White Sox ownership group.

The visually impressive timepiece features a Tourneau Swiss stainless steel case. Its minimalist-style black clockface (which shows no numbers or hour markings) is decorated with the Sox logo and Commissioner’s Trophy designs, and further enhanced by rows of genuine diamonds at each side. The watch’s body is integral to a matching metal band, and “Scott Norton” is engraved on the back of the case. The award’s original engraved wooden presentation box (3-1/2” x 5” x 3-1/4”) accompanies, also engraved with the recipient’s name.  The watch is in excellent working order.
