A great game used bat from Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn’s final seasons. The Padres’ legend had turned 40 in 2000 and rebounded from knee surgery by batting .323. He followed that with .324 his final year, all the while battling injury and age. These last two seasons completed and unbelievable run of 19 consecutive seasons of .300 or better for Gwynn. His 2000-2001 Louisville Slugger B267 model bat shows outstanding use and is un-cracked. As you expect from a Gwynn gamer, the barrel exhibits many ball marks with white leather ball scuffs and blue ink transfers. Blue bat rack paint streaks can be found on all sides and a moderate coat of pine tar has been applied to the center brand. The lower handle has been taped in a spiral pattern to enhance the grip and the bat’s length and weight are written on the knob in black marker. Gwynn’s number “19” and the model number “B267” are written on both the knob and barrel end in black marker.
Graded a perfect GU 10 by John Taube of PSA/DNA.
