In 1989, the San Francisco Giants finished the regular season with a 92-70 record to win the National League Western Division standings. The team, which was eventually swept by the Oakland A's in the World Series, was led by the hot bat of first baseman Will Clark. Playing in his fourth MLB season, the 25-year-old Clark batted a team-leading .333 with 196 hits including 23 home runs and 111 RBI to finish runner-up in the N.L. MVP voting behind his teammate Kevin Mitchell. This lot features a 1989 Will Clark autographed San Francisco Giants game-ready home jersey.
The offered white polyester jersey includes the proper Rawlings manufacturer's tagging [size 44] on the inside left front tail complete with washing instructions and a neighboring smaller tag that reads "1989 22" to reflect the season and Clark's uniform number. The button-down jersey includes all six pearl-colored buttons and "GIANTS" stretched across the front in black tackle twill letters outlined in orange. Clark has signed the front of
the jersey, on the left breast, in black marker. The reverse side includes a sewn-on white nameplate across the shoulders that reads "CLARK" in black tackle twill letters outlined in orange and his uniform number "22" in eight-inch-tall black tackle twill numbers outlined in orange. Orange, black and white elastic trim accents both sleeves.
