Andre Dawson, nicknamed "The Hawk," was a slugging right fielder who played primarily for either the Montreal Expos (11 seasons) or the Chicago Cubs (six seasons). A lifetime .279 hitter, Dawson packed plenty of power in his swing and launched a total of 438 round-trippers during the course of his 21-year MLB career. The N.L. MVP in 1987, he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2010.

This lot features one of Dawson's game-used bats. The 34.5" Worth hand-crafted, professional model bat exhibits moderate game use with contact marks around the barrel and some noticeable wear throughout the handle. A very pronounced eight-inch crack is located just above the handle area where Dawson no doubt took a mighty hack. Also present on the knob of the bat is Dawson's uniform number "8" in black marker. Dawson has signed the barrel of the bat, right underneath his engraved name, in black marker as well. A great piece of game-used baseball memorabilia from a man who earned his rightful place in Cooperstown.

Autograph pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
