Longtime Pittsburgh Pirates third baseman closed out his MLB career playing for the Chicago Cubs (1984-85). A .276 batter, Hebner launched 203 home runs during the course of his 18-year pro career and drove in 890 runs. This lot features his 1985 Chicago Cubs game worn home jersey from his final season in the bigs, a campaign in which he collected 26 hits in 83 games.

The white-and-blue pinstriped, V-neck polyester pullover shows game use with some shrinkage from washings and is sporting the red, white and blue "Cubs" embroidered logo across the left breast area. The proper Wilson manufacturer's tagging [size 42] exists on the inside rear collar complete with washing instructions included. A separate sewn-on tag with blue chain-stitching is positioned just below reading: "18 85 2 42," which indicates Hebner's uniform number, season, set and jersey size. On the lower front tail is another sewn-on "85" blue-chain-stitched tag further indicating the season in question. The left sleeve boasts the red, white and blue embroidered "Cubbies" patch and both sleeves and V-neck collar are finished in elastic blue trim. Hebner's uniform number "18" appears in blue tackle twill sewn directly onto the back of the jersey and shows evidence of fraying. Some slight staining appears on the back of the jersey, right between the numbers "1" and "8".
