On September 26, 1981 Nolan Ryan did the unthinkable - pitched his fifth career no-hitter. Up to that point in has career, Ryan was on the same par with Sandy Koufax with whom he shared the record for career no-hitters. That night Ryan and the Astros faced the eventual World Champion Los Angeles Dodgers at the Astrodome, and when Dusty Baker grounded out to third base ending the game, Nolan Ryan had made history. Ryan went on to toss another two no-hitters for the incredible, and most likely unbeatable, total of seven. This ball was used during the record setting game and has been signed by Ryan in blue ball point and inscribed to an Astros employee “To Barry, Best Wishes Nolan Ryan 9/26/81”. The Rawlings Official National League Feeney ball shows some scuffs and bat contact marks expected on a game used ball.
The ball comes with an LOA from JSA and Astros traveling secretary Barry Waters. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
