During the summers this bat was in service, Pete Rose was the fire that fueled the Big Red Machine. Swinging this club, Rose led the Reds to two World Championships and three National League pennants. Amid all the excitement generated by the Big Red Machine, Rose calmly ticked off the hits steadily gaining on Ty Cobb’s record. Pete’s Adirondack 69A model bat shows outstanding use with a handle crack. Ball marks with stitch impressions are visible on the barrel along with cleat imprints. A light coat of pine tar is on the lower handle and some of the bat’s finish has been removed, most likely by Rose himself. His number “14” is hand written on the knob in black marker and the weight is in pen. Model number “69A” is stamped into the knob and the handle has been taped in a spiral pattern to secure the crack. The Hit King has signed the barrel in black marker to complete this perfect Rose gamer.

LOA from John Taube PSA/DNA with a GU 7.5 grade.
