In 1975, right-handed pitcher Burt Hooten began the MLB season as a member of the Chicago Cubs. It marked his fifth straight season in Chicago since debuting as a rookie in 1971. Hooten, however, after compiling a 0-2 record early in the campaign, was dealt to the Los Angeles Dodgers where he flourished by posting a record of 18-7. He struck out a total of 153 batters that season between the two teams.  This lot features Hooten's 1975 Chicago Cubs game-worn road jersey.

The gray, size 46 polyester pullover jersey is sporting the proper Wilson manufacturer's tag on the inside rear collar, positioned just above a sewn-in gray cloth tag that reads "44 75 2 46" in blue chain-stitching to reflect the player's uniform number, season, set number and size, respectively. The V-neck jersey, which reflects solid game use, reads "CHICAGO" in blue tackle twill lettering across the front with Hooten's uniform number "44" in like fashion on the left breast area. Fraying of the letters and numbers are evident. On the left front tail is another gray cloth tag that reads "75" in blue chain-stitching to indicate the season in which it was worn. The back of the jersey simply sports Hooten's uniform number "44" in slightly larger blue tackle twill numbers. Some minor fraying is present. Both sleeves are trimmed in blue as is the V-neck area and the team's embroidered "Cubbie" patch adorns the left sleeve.
