Rusty Staub was the man who brought respectability to the expansion Colt 45’s. In a sense, Staub “grew up” with the franchise, playing his first big league games in 1963 as a teenager and by ’66 led the NL in double and made the first of six All-Star Game appearances. Staub used this Hillerich & Bradsby R43 model bat during the years 1965 to 1968, the very ones that established him as Houston’s first homegrown star. The bat shows heavy game use and is cracked. Measuring 35 inched and weighing 30.6 ounces, Staub’s number “10” has been hand written on the knob.

LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA.
