After several years of minor league service, Sparky Anderson had an odd major league playing career, appearing in 152 of the 1959 Phillies 154 games and never reaching the majors again. But as a manager, he built dynasties in Cincinnati and then Detroit to earn a spot in Baseball's Hall of Fame. 2,194 wins, 5 National and American League Pennants, and 3 World Championships in 26 years. Half of those years his teams finished 1st or 2nd. Anderson ranks 6th all-time in wins by a manager. Presented here is Sparky’s 1957 contract to play for the Los Angeles Angels of the PCL.  Awarding Anderson a salary of $900 for the season, the fully executed contract features two full name George L. Anderson signatures. Dated April 5, 1957. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
