This interesting postcard is from the Paul DeGood collection. DeGood sent this government issued postcard to “Shoeless” Joe Jackson to sign in 1949 adorned with an image DeGood believe to be the great slugger. In return, he got a secretarial signature and an amusing message from Mrs. Joe Jackson on her husband’s behalf. This secretarially autographed postcard reads “This picture is Buck Weaver--and not me” with “Joe Jackson 9-26-49” in vintage blue ink. Reverse is postmarked 9/27/49 and self-addressed to Paul DeGood.
