The 1931 St. Louis Cardinals posted a 101–53 record during the regular season and finished first in the National League, a full 13 games ahead of the runner-up San Francisco Giants. In the World Series, they outlasted the Philadelphia Athletics in seven hard-fought games. The team was led that season by second sacker Frankie Frisch who batted .311 with 161 hits and 82 runs batted in and right-handed pitcher Burleigh Grimes who posted a 17-9 mark with 67 K’s and an ERA of 3.65. This lot features a St. Louis Cardinals team signed official National League (Heydler) Spalding baseball from that victorious season.

The offered multi-signed N.L. baseball boasts 22 signatures from that illustrious season in Redbirds’ history. The two most important autographs belong to the aforementioned duo: Frisch and Grimes. The signatures have certainly faded over time but many remain recognizable and legible. Other notable signatures include Paul Derringer, who went 18-8 on the hill that season, and Jesse Haines, a fellow right-hander who posted a record of 12-3.

Full LOA from JSA. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
