Hall of Famer Jesse Burkett topped the .400 hitting mark on three occasions during his 16-year career and was second only to Cap Anson in hitting during his era. Half of his seasons in baseball, his peak years of 1891 through 1898, were spent playing left field for the Cleveland Spiders.  Presented here is a decidedly bold example of Burkett’s autograph which ranks among the more elusive pre-war Hall of Fame signatures in the hobby. Executed in immaculate black-ink fountain pen on a 6” x 4-3/8” album page with rounded corners, Burkett gained entry to the Hall of Fame in 1946 and passed away in 1953. Burkett’s signature has been graded MINT 9 by the experts at PSA/DNA. Full LOA from JSA as well.
