Presented here is an incredibly rare dual-signed baseball featuring the great Charles Arthur "Dazzy" Vance.  Vance has signed the ball on a side panel and inscribed the year “1924" in still quite legible 6/10 black fountain ink pen. This date is significant in that 1924 was Vance’s finest season. Dazzy went an outstanding 28-6 with a 2.16 ERA. He threw 30 complete games and was named the National League’s Most Valuable Player. You couldn’t ask for a more desirably dated Dazzy Vance ball.

Joining Vance on the ball is Stephen W. McKeever, construction contractor and part owner of the Brooklyn Dodgers - literally the man who built Ebbets Field. McKeever was president of the Dodgers from 1932 until his death in 1938. His signature is also in black fountain pen, with the inscription “Good Health, Good Luck” appearing on the opposite side panel. The Spalding Official National League ball has a coat shellac applied and the coating has darkened and chipped in several places, though Vance’s panel is very displayable. Dazzy Vance signed balls are highly coveted relics and this being dated to his finest season makes it all the more impressive.
