Presented is a 35-card complete set of Johnston Cookies baseball cards showcasing the hometown Milwaukee Braves from 1954. The Johnston Cookie regional issues are among the most popular 1950s regional issues with modern hobbyists. This 1954 set includes a nice example of the particularly scarce short-print card depicting Braves star Bobby Thomson. Interestingly, it was Thomson's removal from the set (as a result of a playing injury) that allowed a young rookie named Henry Aaron the opportunity to appear on his own card in subsequent printings (not to mention steady playing time).
This 1954 Johnston Cookies Milwaukee Braves complete set of (35) cards with (3) PSA graded Stars is in extremely high grade, averaging NM-MT/MINT across the board. The (3) graded Stars are #5 (Aaron - PSA NM-MT 8) *POP 1/26 with only 11 higher, #21 (Spahn - PSA MINT 9) *POP 1/12 with only 3 higher and #41 (Mathews - PSA MINT 9) *POP 1/11 with only 1 higher. Many more high-grade candidates for PSA submission are present.
