Touted as the “Holy Grail” of Japanese card collecting, this circa 1953 prize display sheet produced by Yamakatsu, measures 21"x29", and contains 30 photographic collector cards affixed to it including nine of the top American players of the day; Mantle, Fox, Berra, Roberts, Lemon, Simmons, Reese, Lopat and Mathews. Berra and Lopat are large 7"x10" cards. Mathews, Roberts and Fox are 3 1/2"x5 1/4", with others smaller. The sheet also contains rookie cards of Hawaiian players-Kashiwaeda and Yogi, plus a rookie of Fresno sensation Zenimura. 10 Japanese HOFers are also included; Nakanishi, Bessho, Fujimura, Fujimoto, Iida, Yoshida, Oshita, Aramaki, Betto and Kozuru. Although the edges of the display sheet are a bit frayed, nearly all cards including Mantle are NM-MT as issued. The photo for the Mantle card was taken in 1951, as he is seen wearing '#6 rather than his legendary #7.
