Offered here is a rare trophy from the collection of the legendary Dodgers manager Walt Alston. Alston was presented this 1974 National League Manager of the Year trophy award by the Post-Gazette Dapper Dan Club on February 9, 1975. The Dapper Dan Charities were founded in 1936 and is one of the oldest non-profit sports club in the world. In 1974, the Dodgers won the NL pennant and went to the World Series to face the Oakland Athletics, but ended up losing the series four games to one. Measuring 10” high and in NM condition with the center piece engraved with “Walt Alston - MANAGER, Los Angeles Dodgers - Honored by the Post-Gazette Dapper Dan Club - As National League Manager of the Year - Feb 9, 1975”. The bottom inside has been engraved with the maker of this cup trophy with “Georgetown - F.B. Rogers”.
