From no better source than their own Hall of Fame manager Walter Alston comes this sparkling team-signed Brooklyn Dodgers baseball from the club's penultimate season in the Borough of Brooklyn before unceremoniously departing for the West Coast in 1958. The Dodgers won their fifth National League pennant in eight years in 1956, only to lose the World Series to their hated uptown rival Yankees. On an Official National League (Giles) baseball, a total of 29 signatures have been applied in nice, uniform 7-8/10 blue ballpoint pen, with a whisper of light dirt or staining but virtually none of the typical toning that afflicts older baseballs. The roster of signers includes: Alston on the sweet spot, Robinson, Campanella, Reese, Koufax, Drysdale, Hodges, Furillo, Gilliam, Newcombe, Erskine, Zimmer, Neal, Craig, Labine, Jackson, Walker, Fernandez, Mitchell, Howell, Roebuck, Bessent, Maglie, Kipp and others. The signature of Snider has been deemed clubhouse.

Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from the Walter Alston Collection. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
