No Brooklyn fan in the world needs to be reminded about the almost mythic significance of a game-worn Dodgers cap attributed to 1955, the year when the excruciating concept of "wait until next year" was finally laid to rest. And in this instance the offered cap was worn by the skipper of that history-making ball club, the Hall of Famer Walt Alston. The stunning Dodger blue cap comes from Alston's personal collection and has the Tim McAuliffe label at the back of the headband, with Pro KM stamping nearby and Size 6 3/4 next to that, The historic cap boasts the famed embroidered Olde English "B" on the front in white embroidery. The cap shows light wear overall.
Also included is a circa 1970’s Los Angeles Dodgers Alston worn cap. The cap features the Tim McAuliffe label at the back of the headband with Pro KM stamping alongside, and with the 6 5/8 size stamping next to it. The cap has the iconic interlocking "LA" on the front in white embroidery and white button at the top of the cap. Significant wear is visible in the interior headband, and light perspiration staining appears on the underside of the bill. A great pair of caps cover Alston’s bi-coastal tenure as Dodgers manager.
Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from the Family of Walter Alston.
