One of the sport's more interesting characters, Ty Cobb spent most of his prolific career with the Detroit Tigers and remains the all-time major league batting average leader with a lifetime mark of .367. Presented here is a First Edition hardcover copy of Cobb’s book “The Tiger Wore Spikes” published in 1956 by Barnes, New York. Opening the first blank page reveals an incredible 9/10 green ink signature of Ty Cobb with him dating the signature “7/3/58.” Bold and crisp with no flaws to the eye, the autograph literally jumps off the white page backdrop. The original dust jacket is missing a 20% section torn from its front. The hardcover book itself is EX-MT with no pages ripped inside, remaining tight and readable.  Interestingly, Cobb passed away almost 3 years to the day after penning this signature. This is a must have for any Ty Cobb collector.

LOA from Lou Brissie family. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
