Seven-time National League batting champion Stan Musial of the St. Louis Cardinals was certainly one of the greatest hitters who ever lived. A career .331 batter who earned three N.L. MVP awards (1943, ’46 and ’48), Musial collected an astounding 3,630 hits during the course of his 22-year MLB career. This lot features a 1950’s Stan Musial autographed Louisville Slugger professional model game-used bat. Measuring 34.25” long, the Hillerich & Bradsby “Powerized” bat is composed of top quality white ash, and exhibits moderate use throughout the barrel with some cleat and bat rack marks apparent. The model number "M159" has been stamped on the knob and Musial has signed the barrel boldly in black sharpie and added the inscription “HOF 69” underneath his signature to signify his induction into Cooperstown. Nice game bat used by Musial that was during the middle portion of his prolific career.
