In the 2015 World Series between the Kansas City Royals and the New York Mets, Royals backstop Salvador Perez rose to the occasion last year and turned in a stunning performance. Besides serving as his team’s steady catcher behind the plate, Perez shined at the plate. In 22 at-bats, he collected eight hits (.364 average) and led the Royals to a four-games-to-one victory over the Mets. For his outstanding play, the 25-year-old from Venezuela was named the Fall Classic MVP.

This lot features a game-used, cracked bat that Perez swung during the Sept. 9, 2015, game versus the Minnesota Twins. The Twins pulled out a tight, 3-2 decision and Perez went hitless in five plate appearances. This is a cracked bat from that outing. The two-tone, 34-inch Tucci Lumber Salvador Perez professional model (TL-I13-LDM) bat was one of Perez’s heavily used bats by virtue of countless ball contact marks on the barrel, Moto stick residue caked on the handle and its long, 16-inch crack. For the entire 2015 season, Perez batted .260 with 21 home runs and 70 RBI to his credit. The bat’s knob includes the Royal logo and Perez’s uniform number “13” in white on blue fashion. His uniform number can also be found in black, fine-point marker on the tip of the hollowed-out barrel.

Includes MLB Authentication hologram (#HZ 970398).
