Just six weeks before claiming their third World Series crown in five years, the San Francisco Giants were hosting their division rival Los Angeles Dodgers and wound up on the very short end of a 17-0 thrashing. The 17 runs is still the most runs scored by any team at AT&T Park. The date was Sept. 13, 2014, and the Dodgers had just opened up a two-game lead over the Giants in the NL West Standings. Giants’ starter Tim Hudson ignited the fire by giving up eight hits and six earned runs in just one inning of work. It as a much-needed wake-up call for the G-Men before turning the season around and becoming World Champs yet again. This lot features 2014 rookie second-baseman Joe Panik's game-worn San Francisco Giants home jersey from that memorable game, as well as his game-used and signed bat from his 2012 minor league grooming. The Giants' 2011 first round pick batted .305 in 269 at-bats and played Gold Glove-caliber defense as a rookie, including a highlight double-play turn in the Fall Classic against the Royals. He was named to the All-Star team in 2015 and figures to be a perennial Gold Glove winner and .300 hitter for years to come.

The jersey is sporting the proper Majestic Authentic Collection size 48 manufacturer’s tagging on the left front tail. The front is very unique as it spells out “GIGANTES” across the front in black tackle twill lettering outlined in orange. This game was celebrating “Latino Heritage Night” at the ballpark. Panik’s uniform number “12” adorns the back of the jersey in black tackle will outlined in orange accompanied by a mustard brown drop shadow effect. The San Francisco Giants Baseball Club patch is located on the left sleeve, while the official MLB logo patch is positioned on the rear collar. The shirt shows solid game use from the 17-0 blowout in which went hitless in four at-bats. His 2012 Louisville Slugger black T141 model bat shows outstanding game use with a medium coating of pine tar on the handle and a plethora of contact marks on the barrel. Panik has signed the barrel in 8-9/10 silver felt tip pen with "2012 game used" inscribed. The knob is stamped with "05/30/12", "A", and "33.0/31.0" for length and weight. Most likely Panik used this bat during his High-A ball season with the San Jose Giants in 2012.

MLB Authentication hologram (#HZ 125464) for jersey. Bat autograph pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
