NFL free agent wide receiver Damian Williams was a standout collegiate player who enjoyed great success on the gridiron as a member of the USC Trojans. After transferring from Arkansas to USC, Williams quickly impressed the Trojans’ coaching staff and climbed to be a starting receiver for the team heading into the 2008 season. He developed into one of quarterback Mark Sanchez's primary receivers in fact and caught 48 passes for 707 yards and eight touchdowns during the regular season. In the 2009 Rose Bowl, in which the Trojans beat the Penn State Nittany Lions, 38-24, Williams made 10 receptions for 162 yards and a touchdown.
This lot features Williams’ 2008 USC Trojans game-worn and autographed uniform, helmet and locker room sign. The Nike white nylon/mesh road jersey (size 42) shows considerable game use with some staining and paint transfers evident. Sporting number “18” in maroon tackle twill on the front and back, the jersey has written on its inside collar in blue ink “Damian Williams Worn at Oreg State 9-25-08.” In that particular game, a 27-21 upset loss to the Beavers, Williams had another great outing as he pulled down 80 receiving yards. Williams has signed the top of the left shoulder in fine-point black marker and added the inscription: “2008 Fight On!” The accompanying yellow, size 30, USC pants with maroon strip down either side include Williams’ uniform number “18” in black marker on the inside waistband.
The USC game-worn helmet shows considerable use with several scratches and paint transfers throughout the crown. The Schutt maroon helmet includes the USC Trojans decal above either ear hole and reads “TROJANS” across the back. The original “Shock Doctor” chin guard remains intact, as does the inner lining throughout the well-padded helmet. To cap off this exceptional USC lot is Williams’ personal locker room nameplate that adorned the top of his locker. It includes his name, a USC Trojans helmet, his number 18 and a yellow “SC” logo. A great package of game-worn USC Trojans football equipment from one of the team’s top receivers in 2008.
