This precious, hand-painted Dubow football ball was signed by Notre Dame’s penultimate team. It is widely believed that the Fightin' Irish’s football dynasty started with this 1946 national championship team that went 8-0-1. A wonderful piece of vintage sports art, it even comes with an early kicking tee, on which it was displayed for decades. One side of the football is painted “1946 ND NATIONAL CHAMPIONS.” This special piece of aged sports memorabilia was obtained from a man whose wealthy lawyer uncle was an important Notre Dame alum. He saw it on display in his uncle's den for decades, and it was gifted to him in his waning years. The laces have been removed but it is a glorious memento featuring 66 autographs in NRMT condition. Notable signatures include legendary Head Coach Frank Leahy, as well as All-Americans John Lujack, John Monstrangelo, George Connor and George Strohmeyer.
