Beautiful 1880's silver plated humidor with an exquisite raised football scene repeated on all four sides, manufactured by a company named Reed & Barton. The football scene around the piece appears to from a 1880's Harvard game. Top of the Humidor engraved with the initials "N. U. S.". This is the first known example of football related silver and could very well be some kind of early trophy or award. Humidor does have the original key for locking and measures 6 3/4" by 3" by 5 3/8". Bottom stamped "MF'D & PLATED BY REED & BARTON" with "286" engraved below. Incredible eye appeal!
