From one of baseball's greatest all-time sluggers comes this A's batting helmet, game-worn during his glorified "Bash Brother" era. Mark McGwire spent the first 11 1/2 seasons in Oakland where he won a World Series in 1989 and hit 363 of his 583 career home runs. The green and yellow helmet made by American Baseball Cap (ABC) has the A's logo decal above the brim and McGwire's No. "25" white decal on the rear above a No Fear (then a popular apparel brand) sticker. It is a single-ear helmet designed for a right-handed hitter like Big Mac. Inside is a size 7 1/2 American Baseball Cap sticker label and a warning label. There is an Authentic Diamond Collection sticker underneath the brim. Stuck to the roof and interior padding are reddish hairs that almost certainly came from the red-headed McGwire, pending DNA testing. An interior date dial indicates June 1993 production meaning it was likely worn that season or in '94, both injury shortened campaigns for McGwire. He has signed the top of the brim in 6-7/10 black marker. The helmet exhibits solid evidence of game use (in addition to the hair), with surface scratches and scuff marks a-plenty. Awesome piece from the man who, legitimate or not, broke Roger Maris' single-season home run record and will always be remembered for it.

Autograph pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
