Mike Trout is the best all-around player in baseball today. In addition to the monster offensive numbers he puts up, it seems like every night he makes an amazing play in centerfield for the Los Angeles Angels, whether it's leaping over the wall to rob a home run or diving full-extension in the gap to save extra bases. Presented here is Trout's game-used fielder's glove from his 2013 season when he finished 2nd in the MVP voting for the second straight year. The black Nike 'Diamond Elite Pro 12.75 DNP' glove is broken in to Trout’s specifications and exhibits incredible use. There are dozens of apparent photo-matches from his second full MLB season, including a likely match from the 2013 All-Star Game on July 16 at Citi Field! Trout is known to switch out gloves very infrequently, making it a safe assumption that this piece of leather was used for a large chunk of the 2013 season, including the Midsummer Classic.
The Japanese-designed glove made from Okayama Kip leather has an index finger hole and features a 12.75” outfielders’ cut with a sixth-finger “Trap-Eze” style web to create a deeper, more secure pocket. A black leather tab is stamped “30/30” (in reference to his 30 HR, 30 SB Rookie-of-the-Year season in 2012) at the end of the adjustable fleece-lined wrist strap. Adjacent is an embroidered red Nike home plate logo patch next to Trout’s facsimile signature and No. "27" stitched in red. “Oiled Kip Leather” trademark logo is branded on the interior pinkie with “Impact Control Heel” at the bottom of the palm. A large red Nike swoosh with the outline of a home plate is stitched into the pocket. Trout signed the glove on the back of its forefinger in bold 9-10/10 silver felt pen with a “13 G/U” inscription. This glove is extremely rare and heavily sought after by collectors as it is Trout's only known MLB gamer to surface in the hobby since he was called up in June 2011. It sold at auction for $20,145 in 2015.
