This lot features a pair of award plaques that were presented to Don Drysdale (one posthumously) following his outstanding career with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The first plaque is the coveted “Street & Smith’s Champion Award” that was presented to Drysdale “In Recognition of Your May Outstanding Achievements in Baseball” at the Downtown Athletic Club in May 1992. It measures nine” wide by 13” high and includes a raised U.S. flag emblem at the very top. The second award, which measures 12” wide by 14.5” tall, was presented to the Drysdale Family following Don’s untimely death on July 3, 1993. Awarded by the American Legion Department of California, it reads: “Presented to Don Drysdale for Contributions to Community, State and Nation,” which acknowledges not only his baseball achievements on the field of play but his broadcasting career in southern California afterwards. The plaque is dated July 16th, 1993.

Includes LOA from the Drysdale Family.
