The $100 gold coin commemorates the XV Olympic Winter Games held in Calgary in 1988. The obverse has an image of Elizabeth II with her name, the Canadian Maple Leaf and "CANADA 1987". The reverse portrays a hand holding the Olympic Torch with a stylized flame forming an image of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, plus "CALGARY 1988", the Olympic rings, a snowflake and "100 DOLLARS" at the bottom. This is the second $100 gold coin to have a lettered edge, which reads "XV Olympic Winter Games - XVes Jeux Olympiques D'Hiver." Composition: 58.33% gold, 41.67% silver. Comes in brown leather case and brown box with Olympic logo. Royal Canadian Mint COA numbered 77,514.

The $20 silver coin set also commemorates the XV Olympic Winter Games held in Calgary in 1988. The complete set contains 10 Sterling Silver commemorative $20.00 coins each containing one ounce of sterling silver and each depicting a different Winter Olympic sport: Downhill Skiing, Speed Skating, Hockey, Biathlon, Cross-Country Skiing, Free-Style Skiing, Figure Skating, Curling, Ski-Jumping and Bobsleigh. Comes in plush green velour case. Royal Canadian Mint COA numbered 201,345.
