Hall of Fame pitcher Gaylord Perry wore this signed and inscribed Seattle Mariners road jersey in a winning effort versus the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium back on April 30, 1982. In the game, a 6-2 win for Seattle, Perry struck out two Yankees and pitched eight-and-two-thirds inning of seven-hit ball to notch career win No. 299! The light blue, V-neck Wilson jersey reads “Seattle” across the front in blue tackle twill lettering outlined in gold with his uniform number “36” in similar fashion across the left breast area. The left front tail includes a separate sewn-on light blue cloth tag with black chain stitching that reads “36 82” to reflect the player number and season. The inside rear collar includes the proper Wilson manufacturer’s tag [size 46] with washing instructions. Both sleeves are sporting single yellow and dark blue stripes from the collar to the edge of the sleeve. The back of the jersey includes “PERRY” arched across the shoulders in blue tackle twill on a separate lighter blue nameplate that’s sewn directly onto the jersey. His jersey number “36” completes the reverse in large, eight-inch tall blue tackle twill numerals outlined in gold. Perry has signed and inscribed the front of the jersey: “Best Wishes Gaylord Perry 299 4-30-82 Yankees.”
