Nice collection of memorabilia from the 1950 movie "The Jackie Robinson Story". Though not a classic by any means the movie is worth a watch as Jackie Robinson plays himself and actor Minor Watson makes a great Branch Rickey. Included in the lot are:
- Baseball signed by Jackie Robinson and players/actors who made an appearance in the film. Players are: Frank Kelleher, Jack Barrett, Gene Mauch, Lou Stringer, Pinky Woods, Eddie Chandler, P-nuts Lowry, E. Blake, Billy Wayne, Bob Simpson, Cliff Aberson, Richard Cheney, Pat Flaharty, Fred Millikin, couple of others unidentified. Another hand has written on the ball "Ballplayers in the motion picture starring? Jackie Robinson", "La Palma Park 2-14-15-16", and "1950". Mostly 6-8/10 signatures. Robinson (6/10).
- Broadside half sheet advertising poster. Nice condition full color poster features large image of Jackie Robinson sliding at the center with actor Minor Watson watching below. Poster does have some creasing but displays beautifully. Framed to a size of 23" by 29 1/2".
- Large 11" by 17" Eagles Lions Films Press Book for "The Jackie Robinson Story". Loaded with photos, articles, etc. about the picture. Awesome to look through. About VG condition.
- Smaller 9" by 12" Eagles Lions Films Book "The Jackie Robinson Story". Loaded with photos, articles, etc. about the picture. Awesome to look through. About EX-MT condition.
- 11" by 14" lobby card for movie featuring a full color image of Robinson jumping to get ball at first base. About G-VG.
- 8" x 10" still photo of the scene in movie where Rickey(Minor Watson) puts fist to Robinson's face. Corner wear w/ one corner missing.
- "8" by 10" photo of the 4 key cast members walking together(Jackie Robinson, Ruby Dee, Minor Watson, Dick Lane).
- 1950 copy of Arthur Mann's paperback "The Jackie Robinson Story". About VG.
- 4/10/1950 copy of Quick magazine with article and photos from the movie.
- Pair of different 5 1/2" by 12" ads for movie cut from magazines.
