Mike Gminski played 14 seasons in the NBA predominantly with the New Jersey Nets. The 6'11" center averaged 11.7 points and 6.9 rebounds for his professional career. In college, Gminiski was a dominant force for the Duke Blue Devils, earning consensus 1st Team All-America honors as a junior and 2nd Team honors as a senior. He finished his four years at Duke with averages of 19.0 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. His No. 43 has been officially retired and is hung in the rafters at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Here we have Gminski's game-worn home jersey from his outstanding college career. On the front right tail is a Rawlings size 46 manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions an an attached "5 INCH EXTRA LENGTH" flag tag. "DUKE" appears across the chest with his number "43" below. "GMINSKI" and a larger "43" are on the reverse. All numbering and lettering are sewn on the white knit shirt in the same blue tackle twill. Gminski has autographed the back '4' with inscriptions "GAME USED" and "43" in black marker that rates a 7-8/10 in our book. Jersey shows moderate wear with signs of stretching as well as light fraying to the letters and numbers. It certainly looks, smells and feels as if it's been laundered. All letters and numbers are original. What a rare, early college gamer from a very well-respected player in his day!
Includes LOA signed by Mike Gminski.
