Even during the twilight of his career in the World Hockey Association well into his late 40's, legendary right winger Gordie Howe still put on a show for anyone who paid a ticket. This SHER-WOOD P.M.P. 5001 wood stick was game used by "Mr Hockey" during his 1973-77 tenure with the Houston Aeros of the WHA. Howe has signed on the blade in strong 9/10 looking black felt tip pen "Gordie Howe #9". For 32 years Howe played professional hockey, 25 of them with the Detroit Red Wings (1946-71). He appeared in 23 NHL All-Star Games and won 6 Hart trophies as the League's Most Valuable Player. 21 times he was named to the NHL All-Star 1st or 2nd Team. Twice, at age 45 and 46, he was named to the WHA All-Star 1st Team. When he retired at age 51 Howe pretty much held every imaginable NHL career record. The upper end of the shaft is stamped "HOWE" with his No. "9". The top of the knob is taped about 2" down the handle. Blade has some coating tape applied. Stick displays moderate game use.

Includes Letter of Provenance from Newport Sports Museum. Autograph pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
