In 1988, the USC Trojans football team compiled a 10-2 overall record (8–0 against conference opponents), won the Pacific-10 Conference (PAC-10) championship, and outscored their opponents by a combined total of 370 to 184. Ranked No. 5 in the AP poll, the Trojans qualified for the Jan. 2, 1989, Rose Bowl but wound up dropping a 22-14 decision to the Michigan Wolverines. This lot features the late, great linebacker Junior Seau’s game-worn, autographed and photo-matched USC Trojans game-worn jersey from that Rose Bowl game. The size 50, half-shirt with hemmed bottom nylon/mesh, maroon-colored jersey includes the proper “W.A. Goodman & Sons” manufacturer’s tag on the front left tail. On the left shoulder is the “USC 1888-1998 100 Years of Athletic Excellence” ironed-on yellow emblem, while the right shoulder is adorned with the official Rose Bowl red, white and green ironed-on emblem. The 1989 All-America selection’s iconic uniform number “55” appears on the front and back ironed on in yellow. USC's trademark yellow and white stripes adorn either sleeve. Seau signed the right shoulder in silver, just beneath the Rose Bowl emblem and added "#55" underneath his signature. This jersey was sourced from Seau's Restaurant in San Diego, which closed a few weeks after his death in 2012. A classic piece from one of the greatest linebackers in football history.

Autograph is pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
